the ipod mini 2nd generation (<-bottom row) is the updated version of the 1st generation model (<-top row) known for its colorful clickwheel. generally speaking, the ipod mini, specifically the 2nd gen, is considered to be the easiest ipod to repair amongst the other ipod models. there are four color variations in the 2nd gen models: blue, pink, green, and silver. only the 1st gen has the gold version, the chrome is an unofficial custom-made shell that fits both models.

preface

ive been wanting to decrease my phone’s screen time for a while now, and i feel like one of the most contributing factors was to play or to change the music im listening to. at some point, i grew tired of music streaming services and i also hated that i needed to use an adapter to hook my iems to my phone (since modern phones now discontinued the earphone jacks for some reason..). i remember watching a video by DankPods about which ipod is cheapest to modify, and to be honest, my main selling point was to get a music player that had a monochrome screen and another easy electronics project. and so, i went hunting on Yahoo!オークション to find my next project to fix! special thanks to my ghost friend for gifting it to me on my birthday :^D
